Scott suffers defeat in IBF middleweight world title fight

A nasty head clash left Kaye Scott worse for wear during her IBF middleweight world title defeat to Desley Robinson in Sydney on Friday night.

Scott started well in the early rounds before Robinson gradually worked her way on top and took out a deserved unanimous decision, 97-93, 97-93, 98-92, to claim the championship belt.

The result over 10 rounds improved 36-year-old Robinson’s record to 9-3, while Scott, a Commonwealth Games boxing silver and bronze medallist, suffered her first loss in five professional fights.
